This book changed the way I remember things… and I have only just bought it!

Let me take you back to October... I am sat in a training room in Marbella, with the first of 6 exams in front of me, staring at the first three questions and thinking... SHIT. See I knew what the answers were, but I couldn't access the answers in a way to actually get them out onto paper. My strategy had failed me. This was the first exam in my life that I truly cared about, that I really wanted to ace and as I was sat there staring at the paper thinking "I have cocked this right up" I got frustrated, I mean really frustrated... I hated the feeling of knowing the answer but not knowing how to answer it. I was self-sabotaging myself in front of my very eyes. I dragged myself through the exam and passed the first one (just), but I wasn't happy with the fact I felt I cocked up. That evening my great friend and fellow NLP Trainer John Montgomery was staying at...

How I made my first £5

How I made my first £5

I want to share with you the first time I did some business that made me more than £1 (I say more as I used to be that kid who would knock on your door and offer to wash your car for 50p) The year was 2003 - I had just joined a new high school after leaving primary school. I would of been 11/12 For those of you that remember limewire will remember how great it was but at the same time you would be fearful of downloading a virus that would destroy your computer and you would have Mi5 knocking at your door...well thats what I always thought. At my high school It was right next door to my primary so many of my friends also went to this one, luckily that means an automatic friendship group - many which I am proud to say I am still very close with today. I think this is the time my entrepreneurial bug really...

Why do companies de-value their employees?

Why do companies de-value their employees?

Let's be real here, of course not ALL companies de-value their employees but a heck of alot of them do. Why? Firstly, how many companies really know their employee's values? How many of them take the time in interview stage AND throughout the whole employment time to know and check in with the values. Values can change - alot of people don't realise that. But the values you had at 15 are going to be different to the ones you have now and the ones you have now will be different to the ones you will have in another 3,5 and 10 years. For me, working with companies on their values and then, in turn, their employee's values is always incredibly interesting. You see the real purpose come out of people, the reasons why they do certain things - even the reason why they want this job. When was the last time you checked in with yourself in terms of your values and beliefs? Questioned...

Your habits can destroy you

Your habits can destroy you

We all have habits, some good and some bad. Your habits are keeping you alive and kicking but your habits can also destroy you. How many of you have adopted these habits for a period of time; - The habit of doing jack shit ✔️ - The habit of being a victim✔️ - The habit of sitting in the same seat on the same train every day✔️ - The habit of not having a real conversation✔️ - The habit of not selling your services consistency ✔️ - The habit of focusing on others people's success rather than your own ✔️ - The habit of being too emotional involved in an outcome and allowing it to effect your week, month, year...life! ✔️ You may be thinking - "Oi Shaggerty, some of these aren't habits" Well you're wrong. If you are seeing these patterns crop are then they are a habit. You're not changing the structure/system/strategy to change the outcome. You're sitting there right now thinking "fuck I've got some bad habits" Guess what? So does everyone. You're not...

Stop Dickin around!

Stop Dickin around!

STOP DICKIN AROUND in your business! Over the past few weeks I have spoken with a number of new-ish entrepreneurs and here are a few common traits I have seen; - Lack of clarity - Trying to do 1000000s things at once before even starting the basics - Making zero money - Having zero prospects on the horizon - Signing up to 5 different marketing courses and then getting pulled in 5 different directions on how to market their business - OVERTHINKING <<<< This is a HUGE one, over thinking leads to ending up doing absolute jack shit. This is when you have that awesome idea, or you know a great prospect then you over think it and 6 months later you are overthinking why it all went tits up. There are ALOT more I could list but these are some traits I have seen alot of these past few weeks. I think overthinking leads to all of the above. You could be in business a day or 3...

#MondayMotivation

#MondayMotivation

#mondaymotivaiton Is not with me at this present moment in time. If I'm honest with you I am writing this from the comfort of my bed, looking out the window on what a beautiful day it seems to be! I woke up with zero motivation to do anything today. My weekend consisted of a 12 hour 1-1 day on Saturday with a client and then Sunday I relaxed and reset - it was excellent. Here is what the "hustlers" of the world will tell you their Monday will consist of; 5 Am wake up club ✔️ 20 prospects before 9am ✔️ By lunchtime watched the latest Gary Vee shows ✔️ Grinding away till 3pm ✔️ I gotta grind 30 hours a day to succeed ✔️ 3pm upload lunch picture "oops I been hustling so forgot to have lunch" ✔️ 3pm - 12am hustle hustle hustle ✔️ 12am status "ready to start again at 5am"✔️ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is a right here is a crap mentality. If your belief is you have to...

What “success” looks like…

What “success” looks like…

This is what "success" looks like nowadays; - Video marketing campaign ✔ - Photo with Richard Branson ✔ - Photo with Tony Robbins ✔ - Photo of you on a beach somewhere ✔ - Photo of you in front of 5000 people ✔ - Photo with any film actor ✔ - "new car" photo ✔ - Running events where you sell tickets to another event where you then sell tickets to another event... ✔ - "views" on youtube/facebook (views don't mean much, focus on the engagement) ✔ - Oh and the private jet photo of course! ✔ - Quoting themselves with a picture of themselves ✔ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sorry to burst your bubble but all of the above does not mean shit, it does not mean the person is successful, it does not mean they know what they are doing, what it means is they are a good marketer that has caught your attention and usually ready to sell you the next online course so YOU can also get all of the above. Because that...

We all know that one person….

We all know that one person….

We all know that one person, in pretty much all professions who's ego will be living off that one big deal they did 10 years ago via fax on Christmas day whilst being snowed in. But here is the thing, when was the last time they actually did something consistently? Now days it is easy for people to "scam" others on social media by saying certain things to make it seem like they just closed 11m worth of business before Lunch. Now this is not a post about selling...... This is a post about creating something that is consistent. Creating a business that you can keep growing (if that's the goal), keep living off and it fueling the lifestyle that you want to lead.....none of that happens from a one hit wonder! Why do alot of people get to a certain point in their business and it just stays at that level... - They got comfortable (aka lazy) - Their ego did not let them learn new...

Should you give up?

Should you give up?

Those times as an entrepreneur when you think "shit maybe I should just get a job" are not only often the most motivating times - but the moment you ask yourself that question and the reply is "no you won't - get your shit together" confirms to you that you are on the right track! I have had that thought countless times over the past 2,3,4,5...years! Sure a few of those times I did go out and get a job, but let me tell you that the salary each month was a huge motivation for me not to have that job anymore! You can be sat here on a Monday, in fact, bank holiday Monday, as either someone who is starting to doubt themselves or perhaps the other side of the table you are truly dreading going into work tomorrow. I know that anybody that wants to pursue their own venture has the abilities to do so, the resources are around them. So if...

I am not average

I am not average

I want to be the best at what I do, because of this I can not be average. I am here to change lives...how can I do that if I am just average? My standards for myself are set high, my standards for my clients are also set high... why? Because working with others that do not want to be average is where the magic is, where we can create those moments that have a huge knock on effect. As Steve Jobs said, you have to be crazy to see the genius! You have to be able to have enough discipline that in those times where your friends think you are crazy for what you do it, you are so sure of yourself that you will carry on, you will get to where you want to go and be who you want to be. Those times where you are sat eating custard out of a tin because you have no money in the bank (yup I...
