What is Executive Presence?
It is often said that leadership is about communication, and communication plays a vital role in a leader’s ability to influence and inspire others. In business, this is known as Executive Presence, and it enables one to bring to the table the right attitude, mindset, knowledge and skillsets to drive positive outcomes. With great executive presence comes the power to influence, cause and impact; and so leaders must strive to nurture and develop this critical capability.
Executive Presence is the perception of an individual’s power, confidence, and competence. It is often accentuated by aspects of dress, deportment and overall demeanor, as well as how one articulates and communicates their ideas. Ultimately, in order to achieve success in leadership, one must cultivate their executive presence – and with it the ability to engage, influence, and inspire.
