STOP Living life on repeat

STOP Living life on repeat

STOP LIVING LIFE ON REPEAT - Can you hear me clear enough!? Before I start, I will not hold back in this post so read on at your own risk.  I have adopted this saying from somewhere and I truly live by it. Time and time again I speak to people who are living life on repeat without even knowing they are doing it - which is the worst thing about it! EAT - SLEEP - WORK - REPEAT - DIE For the majority this will happen until something shocks them out of it, perhaps they get ill or their partner leaves them or they die. It takes a drastic life event for them to wake up to life. ITS TIME TO WAKE UP Stop being a zombie, stop just surviving, waiting until retirement, saving for a holiday that will pause your life for 7 days.....start living. How many people do you know are living on repeat? Or perhaps living for the weekend? It's funny that people think...

Why “Corporate Training” needs a shake up….

Why “Corporate Training” needs a shake up….

Bored yet? Because 90% of corporate training is just that, a bore. A day where either you are forced to do or you volunteer because it gets you away from your desk for the afternoon. But here is the thing, most (not all) corporate training days are dead boring. I have heard horror stories of 8 hours say watching someone present a powerpoint presentation word for word and not add anything else into it....I can even feel myself dozing off thinking about it. Or the complete opposite, where you are trying to make it seem really "fun" and "hip" because the latest sales training book told you that the new in thing was to do giant Jenga to really build up your team rapport and get more sales.....sorry but I am calling bullshit. The other situation where I see alot of people go wrong when they hire a trainer, they hire someone who is exactly like their culture, people already etc. But what...

A question to commuters…

A question to commuters…

Commuters.... today was the first time in a while that I have been on a busy commuter train - and boy does it remind me of how much I love what I do! Looking around the carriage and seeing the looks on people's faces, I counted two people that looked semi happy people. The rest were either staring into space pondering their thoughts or getting entertainment from their iPhones. It got me thinking... What's the reason that the majority of people in the morning commute are being sardines? Now I know that it won't be the case for everyone, but certainly some. Some of those that are commuting everyday, going home and then pressing the repeat - living in a modern day Groundhog Day. What is the reason? If it's money, I assure you that there are many other ways to get money AND be happy. Perhaps it comes back to the conditioning that is set upon us in school. "Take these exams because you...

Do you need a “Story”?

Do you need a “Story”?

I want to talk about your Story, over the past two years I have seen countless people share their story on stage, social media and meeting them at a networking event. I have no issue with people sharing their story, I find alot of them to be inspiring. However (have you noticed I always have a "however" moment?), yes However I think you order to be successful, and I am taking this from alot of coaches and speakers who are looking to create a business from being a coach, trainer or speaker. In order to be successful you have to be MORE than your story. At the end of the day your story is exactly that YOUR story. If you are a speaker then your story can get pretty boring pretty quickly for alot of people. Use your story as your own motivation first and foremost, your motivation to create something more than your story. If you are a speaker, coach or trainer you...

How to use the full potential of Linkedin

How to use the full potential of Linkedin

Linkedin is by far one of the largest self-policing social network What do I mean by this? Person A posts a status, Person B goes "this should be on facebook/twitter bla bla bla" I see this day in and day out, that someone will post something such as a picture of a new car they have just brought and it will have a mix of positive and negatives comments. It is the negative comments that interest me, why do they feel they need to post on the picture saying that THEY do not think it should be on linkedin? After all, the moment they comment they are then sharing that post with their own network.... What has this got to do with the title I hear you ask! Well selling is a key part of any business (and I would also say life in general), so how do you sell on Linkedin? I delivered a talk last week all about how to concur Social media and when...

Why I won’t say New Year = New Me

*Long post alert!* Why i won't be saying New year New me this year... 2016 has been an amazing journey for me, my business has grown along with my network and friends. There have been ups and downs, spending too much, sleeping too little and a few dramas along the way. But it was a damn site better than 2015 (lost a very close friend and ended up doing some stupid decisions) Now, I do not wish you to think that everything is perfect - because that would be BS. I can and will be improving and finding more balance among certain things, as I have said in the past always tweak as you go along as I believe that how you grow...don't become stagnate. But the reason I am not saying new year, new me is because I actually love who I am now, what I do and why I do it. I am 100% me whenever I am interacting, creating or doing...

Truth or Dare?

Truth or Dare?

Truth or dare? Dare to do something different How often are you daring yourself? Dare to step out of your comfort zone Dare to have enjoyment in what you do Dare to live your purpose Dare to dream Go on, I dare you! As people go through life, the majority of them will set a limitation on them self, these conditions are created from school and your environment and are often very tricky to change (but they can all be changed). But if you want to go through life without daring to follow your dreams then that is your choice – nobody else’s. If you aren’t challenging yourself DAILY by stepping out of your comfort circle then how will you grow? I see so many people that are living life on repeat, that have stopped daring to live and are just living a Groundhog Day until occasional weekend out brings a moment of excitement into their lives. No matter who you are, what you do and where you wish to go....

Just quit It….

Just quit It….

Just quit it …. making decisions based solely on the opinions of others How many of us are guilty of making a decision based on the opinion of others? I will raise my own hand to that one! But how many of us are doing it too often? Going against your gut instinct and following someone else’s map of the world. All too often when you have a strong gut feeling but end up following through because of external opinions it turns out that you should of gone with your gut in the first place. After all your gut is a brain (as is your heart) Now I’m not saying be selfish and just do everything you think is right and then see what happens – that probably wouldn’t turn out very well either. My point today is to highlight to you how often you may or may not be allowing other people’s opinions effect you in a negative way. The joyful thing about...

Being an entrepreneur can be a lonely place…sometimes.

Being an entrepreneur can be a lonely place…sometimes.

I am surrounded by all types of entrepreneurs, it is fantastic to see and feel. When I started my entrepreneurial journey at age 11 by selling CDs in the playground, I think I was the only person who had that trait. But being an entrepreneur can be lonely To be honest I was very much a lone wolf with my thought path until I started surrounding myself with coaches and speakers. The majority of my friends don’t really understand what I do, or have no real interest. Which makes the world seem like a lonely place sometimes – I wonder how many of my long term friends read these blogs? You meet people that are just starting out in business and at any age they are excited, nervous and ready to start on a new journey. I love speaking with entrepreneurs and many of my coaching clients are entrepreneurs. The drive they have is a reflection of my own, if someone knocks...
