B2B pipeline
B2B pipeline is qualified commercial opportunity, not a count of sends, clicks, or meetings. How a loose definition hides the real constraint.
B2B pipeline is the set of opportunities a company is willing to call real: a named account, a live problem, a next step, and a value that matches how the business actually sells. It is not an activity report. Sends, replies, and meetings can all rise while the commercial number goes backwards.
A useful pipeline definition answers four questions. Who is allowed in. What evidence is required at each stage. Who owns the next action. What gets removed when it stalls. Without those rules, forecasting is a negotiation and channel comparisons are noise.
Pipeline problems are often ownership problems. Marketing, sales, and an agency can each be busy against a different definition. Naming the constraint, then the owner, is the work of a fractional chief growth officer or, when the team can hold it, a growth diagnostic.
Client-reported pipeline from an agency is not the same figure as closed revenue. Treat any pipeline claim, including ones attached to Growleady, with that distinction.
