Fractional chief growth officer
A fractional chief growth officer, or fractional CGO, owns growth direction part-time. How the role differs from a consultant, a CMO, and a CFO.
A fractional chief growth officer is a part-time senior leader who owns growth direction and the operating rhythm. Fractional CGO and fractional head of growth are the same remit on this site.
The hire makes sense when the company has traction, the founder is still connecting every growth decision, and a full-time executive is not yet justified.
How the work runs
The first month is a decision-quality view of the system: goal, ideal customer, offer, funnel, channels, pipeline definitions, and who owns what. The output is an ordered 90-day plan, a weekly rhythm, and a path to transfer ownership back to the company.
It is more embedded than growth consulting. It is broader than a single channel. It is not a fractional CMO and it is not a fractional CFO.
Steven works this way with founder-led B2B companies from the UK, including teams in the cities listed here. The scope and fee are agreed after a discovery call. There is no published day rate.
